Dive into an overindulgence of a Seafoodfest delight – LUTEFISK. You betcha we’re bringing this time-honored event back to Ballard Music & Seafoodfest! Celebrate the Scandinavian side of the Ballard neighborhood and show off your dedication and sheer grit as you compete for the coveted title: WINNER of the 2026 Ozzie’s International Lutefisk Eating Competition! Do you have what it takes to gulp down, what could amount to, 2 lbs. of delicious LUTEFISK?!

Sunday, July 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the intersection of NW Market Street and 22nd Avenue NW.

The contestant fee is only $10 and you will receive a commemorative t-shirt and (hopefully) all the lutefisk you can eat!

Rules will be explained at the competition, but here are the basics:

We will accept only twelve contestants (the first twelve that sign up are in!)
There will be three heats of competitions, each requiring consumption of 1/2 pound of lutefisk. Only the fastest move on and get the opportunity to eat MORE lutefisk.
The fastest eater in the 3rd and Final Heat will be hailed the winner! Cash Prizes will be awarded.
